It's time for a spring clean-up!
Now that the winter is almost behind us, it is time to plan and prep for spring clean-ups. Your yard deserves a fresh look to kick off the growing season. March and April can be a finicky time of year as far as the weather is concerned, but it's perfect time to spruce up your lawn and landscape.
The most cumbersome task is probably removing all of the winter debris. This includes any leaves left over from winter, sticks, acorns, or any other debris from trees or plants around your property.
Your flower beds will have to be cleaned out, unwanted or dead plants removed, shrubs and ornamental trees pruned(I prefer selective pruning over shearing or heading). After the clean-out and pruning, a fresh layer of mulch is the icing on cake for flower beds. You will now have a nice, manicured bed.
Why stop at only cleaning up your landscaping? The exterior of your home probably needs attention as well. Do you ever notice the algae build up on your siding and/or roof? Or how nasty your windows have become? Softwashing is a great solution to beautify the exterior of your home(see before and after pics below).
The process uses a low pressure application of biodegradable solution that effectively eliminates algae, mildew, lichens, and other organic growth on your home. Those unsightly black streaks on your roof are actually algae called gloeocapsa magma.
This algae feeds off of the limestone filler in your shingles! Besides being an eyesore, this algae is eating your roof. Softwashing your roof every few years will keep the algae from forming and your roof will continue to look brand new. Top everything off with a good window cleaning for a crystal clear view of your freshened up home and landscape.
